Travel Information

 

Invitations: If you need a preliminary conference invitation letter in order to obtain travel funding from an/your institution or secure a visa, please send your request to org@bueaconference.com. (You will be required to pre-register and submit your abstract, if presenting)


The conference Airport is located in the port city of Douala  (Booking code:  DLA). All participants are strongly advised to start their visa application and travel reservations early. Free shuttle bus pick-up services will be provided to transport participants from Douala airport to Buea on 10-12 May.  Should anyone need to be picked up, please send an e-mail to the organizers indicating your arrival information. 

** Airports in Cameroon charge each traveler leaving the country an airport fee of 10,000 F CFA (approx 20.00 US dollars). Participants should have atleast this amount in hand when returning after the conference **.

Please plan about  3-4 weeks to complete visa process

Other travel equirements:

Vaccination against Yellow Fever is required for travel to Cameroon. Please check with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s hotline for international travel information at 1-877-FYI-TRIP (1-877-394-8747) or via the CDC’s internet site at http://www.cdc.gov/travel

All participants are advised to purchase appropriate health insurance as conference organizers can not assume any liability for medical problems. Contact organizers with any travel aid inquiries.
