2011 Conference updates...

Dear 2011 Buea Conference Registrant:

Thank you again for your interest in the Second Buea International Conference on the Mathematical Sciences, holding in conjunction with a CIMPA summer school on Mathematical Analysis, at the University of Buea, Cameroon, in May 2011. As the conference dates draw closer, we wanted to update you and seek updates from you, to aid our planning process.

1) The conference has received strong and broad interests, with more than 125 registrations, over 90 abstracts submitted and more than 50 requests for travel support. Unfortunately, this means we are unable to accommodate all (including some excellent) submissions! If you applied for CIMPA funding to enable your participation at the Summer School, you must have received a formal response by now. However, if you did not receive a travel award and/or are not giving a talk, we MAY still cover your local expenses in Buea, Cameroon, between May 9 - 14, 2011. This means that you may need to be responsible only for your airfare. Please inform us of your plans.

2) If your abstract was accepted (we sent you an acceptance letter), please confirm your participation plans no later than April 15th 2011. For most, the letter accepting your abstract will be enough for visa purposes. We are unable to schedule speakers without confirmations. Specifically, promptly email us your travel itinerary to aid our logistic planning and scheduling.

3) Participants will stay in hotels in the University neighborhood and the Conference will hold on the University of Buea Campus. Lodging and Meals will be arranged by conference organizers at group rates, and conference shuttles will pick participants from the Douala airport (booking code - DLA) for the ~1hr ride to your hotel in Buea.
